10th. SyncronAC
Arplas Welding installed a SyncronAC unit, our latest version inverter type power supply for drum welding in a drum plant in South Africa. The unit was installed on a 40 year old semi automatic National welder.
To prove exact differences in power consumption, Arplas set up a welder to produce standard drums with a wall thickness of 1 mm and a production speed of 15 meters per minute.
Below are the test slips for both tests, left with existing system, right with our new SyncronAC.

From above we can learn that the welder with classical control system consumes 142,3 kVa from the 2 phase net, with a real power consumption of the welder of 53,1 kW.
Efficiency of 38%
The welder equipped with SyncronAC consumes only 63 kVa from the net, with a real power consumption of the welder of 47 kW
Efficiency of 74%
Same power saving can be achieved on your welder. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
